The Friends of the Watertown Public Library will hold their Annual Author Event on Thursday, September 29th. This year our featured Wisconsin Author is Lucy Sanna who has recently written the bestselling novel “The Cherry Harvest.” Taking place in the beautiful Door County, the novel is described as being “A memorable coming-of-age story and love story, laced with suspense, which explores a hidden side of the home front during World War II, when German POWs were put to work in a Wisconsin farm community.” Ms. Sanna’s novel holds high accreditation for not only being a bestseller, but also being chosen as the Wisconsin State Journal Book Club Pick, and the Midwest Independent Booksellers Book Club Pick. This novel carries aspects of Door County History, World History, and an acute “reminder that war touches all families, but never in the same way” notes author Amy Smith. This ticketed event will take place at The Schempf Building, 209 E. Main St. on Thursday, September 29th at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets will be sold for $25 each to include the novel, coffee and tea and light desserts. Please purchase your ticket in advance at either the Watertown Public Library, or Tribeca GalleryCafe & Books (401 E. Main St.). Cash or checks made out to FWPL will be accepted. Please contact the staff at Tribeca for further questions at 920.206.2885. We hope to see you at this fun community event!
